The CGC Katmai Bay was commissioned in 1964 as the lead ship of a class of River Buoy Tenders. There are 9 ships in this class and they all work with 90 foot buoy barges. These ships also perform AtoN work, river construction, and SAR work (if needed). The Gasconade is 75' long, has a crew of 19, and a top speed of 8.7 knots. Home port is Omaha, NE.
