USCGC Point Chico (WPB-82339)

The USCGC Point Chico is an 82 foot general purpose patrol boat. This class of cutter is in the process of being replaced by a new 87' foot cutter class. The Point Chico was commissioned in 1967, and is currently home ported in Bodega Bay, CA. The Point Chico is one of 26 of these boats still in commissioned, all are which are expected to be replaced by December of 2001. Point Heyer has an estimated decommissioning date of July 2001. The Point Heyer has a crew of 10 and a top speed of 22 knots. The patch shows the cutter in the mouth of a great white shark.
