USCGC Point Hobart (WPB-82377)

The USCGC Point Hobart was an 82 foot general purpose patrol boat. This class of cutter is in the process of being replaced by a new 87' foot cutter class. The Point Hobart was commissioned in 1967, decomissioned in 1999 and sold later that month. There are still 26 of these boats in commission, all are which are expected to be replaced by December of 2001. The Point Hobart had a crew of 10, top speed of 22 knots, and was home ported in Oceanside, CA. The patch shows the cutter with Bart Simpson yelling out to Homer Simpson on a raft.
